Awesome Alumnae Story

Beverly Lewis was an Awesome Ambitions girl in 1999. She started her own business: Simply Lovely. It’s a custom shirt company.
“My husband and I started the company because we were unhappy with the clothing options available to our teen daughter. Most of the message tee’s available are not messages we will allow our daughter to wear. We did some research, purchased some material, and jumped right in. We officially opened in January 2016. At this time we are using social media for marketing and sales. We present our product in vendor booths at different local events.
I worked at UMKC in the Financial Aid Office and then I worked as an Independent Living Advocate for The Whole Person; impacting the lives of people in a positive way is wonderful.
I have been married for 3 years to Arthur (Tony) Lewis and loving every moment! I graduated from UMKC with my Baclors of Arts in Elementary Education in 2008, and my Masters of Arts and Liberal Studies in 2011. As I look to the future, I would say my three year plan includes me teaching at the elementary level, ideally, a 2nd or 3rd grade classroom.
I currently attend Blue Hills Church of the Nazarene, where I work in Children’s Ministry as a Children’s Church teacher. I absolutely LOVE working with our young believers,” Beverly said.

Our programs are designed to further our mission and provide much needed services for our constituents.
